The Ocean and Theology Symposium:

No matter where you live, the Ocean affects not only your life and the lives of your friends and family, but also the entire Earth community. The Ocean flows over almost three-quarters of our planet, holds 97% of its water, produces over half the atmospheric oxygen, absorbs most of its carbon dioxide and is a place of limitless beauty. Not only is the Ocean wide and deep, but it is also a treasure trove of creative thoughts and beautiful images.

Over a two-day period, a total of eight papers will be presented that approach the topic from a variety of directions: ecology, scripture, spirituality, justice, peace, dialogue, religiosity, climate change, and so on. It is our hope that the symposium might open up new perspectives on this most important, but oft neglected, topic.

We invite you to attend our symposium and partake in this new and exciting venture within the world of mission. The Symposium is free of charge and open to anyone who is interested. Tea and Coffee will be available.
